From PPG Place, head southeast toward 6th Avenue. Once you reach 6th Avenue, turn right and walk along the street for about two blocks. Mellon Square will be on your left, at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Smithfield Street. The park is a raised plaza, so you’ll need to take the steps or ramp leading up from the street level.

To reach Mellon Square using public transit, locate the nearest bus stop serviced by the Port Authority of Allegheny County. Board a bus that is heading towards Downtown Pittsburgh. You can check the schedules and routes using the Port Authority’s website or app. Once you reach the stop at '6th Ave at Smithfield St', get off the bus. From there, Mellon Square will be across the street. Simply cross 6th Avenue to access the park.
Public Transit - Light Rail
If you are near a light rail station, board the T light rail towards the 'Station Square' or 'North Shore' line. Get off at the 'Steel Plaza' station. From there, exit the station and walk north on 6th Avenue for about three blocks until you reach the intersection with Smithfield Street.
