Walking
From the heart of South Side, head northwest on E Carson St toward S 10th St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with S 10th St. Turn right onto S 10th St and continue walking until you reach the Smithfield Bridge. Cross the bridge, which will lead you directly into Downtown Pittsburgh. Once you reach the other side, follow the signs to Second Avenue. Firstside Park is located at 546 Second Avenue, just a short walk down this road.
Public Transport - Bus
From South Side, find the nearest bus stop on E Carson St. You can take the Port Authority bus number 51 or 75. Board the bus and ride for about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the stop nearest to Second Avenue, then walk a few blocks to 546 Second Avenue. Be sure to check the current bus schedules and fares, as a one-way fare typically costs $2.75.
Public Transport - Light Rail
Walk to the South Side station of the light rail, which is located on E Carson St. Take the light rail towards the Station Square and transfer to the light rail line that goes towards the North Side. Get off at the First Avenue station. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk. Head northeast on 1st Ave toward Smithfield St, then turn left on Smithfield St and walk toward Second Avenue. Firstside Park will be at 546 Second Avenue. The light rail costs approximately $2.50 for a one-way trip.
