If you are in South Side, start by heading north on South 18th Street towards the Smithfield Street Bridge. This bridge will lead you directly across the Monongahela River. Once you cross the bridge, continue straight on Smithfield Street until you reach the intersection with Commonwealth Place. Turn left onto Commonwealth Place, and Point State Park will be on your left. The walk should take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.

To use public transit, you can catch the Port Authority bus #48 or #51 from various stops in South Side. Board the bus heading towards Downtown Pittsburgh. You will disembark at the stop near the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Commonwealth Place. From there, it’s just a short walk to Point State Park. The bus fare is $2.75 for a single ride, and you can pay with cash or a ConnectCard.
