Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Presque Isle Lighthouse, start by entering Presque Isle State Park from the main entrance at 301 Peninsula Dr, Erie, PA 16505. Once inside the park, follow the main road straight until you reach a fork. Stay to the right at the fork, following signs for the lighthouse. Continue on the road until you see the lighthouse on your right. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that parking fees may apply, especially during peak tourist season.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike at one of the rental stations near the park entrance. Follow the paved bike trails that lead towards the lighthouse. The trails are well-marked, and you will have a scenic ride along the shoreline of Lake Erie. The lighthouse is approximately 2 miles from the main entrance, so plan for a leisurely ride. Remember to wear a helmet and stay hydrated!

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, take the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA) bus to the closest stop to the park. From there, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach the lighthouse. Follow Peninsula Drive into the park, and look for signs directing you to the lighthouse. Be prepared for a walk, and check the EMTA schedules for the latest bus times.

• Walking

  If you are already in Presque Isle State Park and prefer to walk, the lighthouse is accessible via the trails. From the park's main entrance, walk along the main road and follow the signs for the lighthouse. It is about a 30-minute walk (approximately 1.5 miles), so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the natural beauty of the park along the way.
