Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Caraz, which is the closest major town to the Alpamayo Circuit. Drive on the PE-3N road towards Huascarán National Park. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you reach the entrance to the park, pay the entrance fee (around 30 PEN). Continue driving until you reach the trailhead for the Alpamayo Circuit, located at Laguna Llaca. Park your car here and prepare for your trek.

Public Transportation
From Caraz, take a colectivo (shared taxi) to the village of Cashapampa. The ride takes approximately 1 hour and costs around 10 PEN. Upon arrival in Cashapampa, you can hire a local guide or porter to assist you for the trek to Nevado Alpamayo. The trek to the base camp (Base Camp of Alpamayo) will take around 4-6 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
