If you are driving from Huaraz, take the Avenida Luzuriaga road heading south. Continue on this road until you reach the junction with the Carretera Huaraz-Pativilca. Turn left onto this highway and follow it for about 30 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Laguna Rajucolta. After approximately 1 hour of driving, you will reach the town of Recuay. From Recuay, continue on the road towards the Antamina mine, and follow local signage that leads you towards Laguna Rajucolta. The last part of the drive may involve unpaved roads, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Expect to pay for parking near the lake.
