Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Huaraz, the capital of Ancash. Head east on Av. Luzuriaga, then take the road towards Carhuaz (PE-3N). From Carhuaz, continue on PE-3N for about 12 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for the Churup trailhead, which is well-marked. There is a parking area available at the trailhead, but be prepared to pay a small fee (approximately 5-10 soles) for parking. Once parked, follow the marked trail leading to Churup, which is about a 2-3 hour hike.
Public Transportation
To reach Churup via public transportation, take a bus from Huaraz to Carhuaz. Buses leave frequently from Huaraz's main bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre de Huaraz) and the fare is usually about 5-10 soles. Once you arrive in Carhuaz, look for a local taxi or collectivo (shared taxi) to take you to the Churup trailhead. The cost for the taxi or collectivo is approximately 15-25 soles. After reaching the trailhead, begin your hike to Churup, which takes around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace.
