Car
If you are driving from Huaraz, head south on Avenida Luzuriaga. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida Agustín Gutiérrez, where you will turn left. Follow this road until you reach the junction with the main road (Carretera Huaraz - Pativilca). Turn right onto this road and continue for about 15 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating Wilcacocha and follow the directions. The entrance to the lake is well-marked, and there is a small parking area available.
Public Transportation
To reach Wilcacocha using public transport, go to the main bus terminal in Huaraz. Look for a minibus or colectivo heading towards the 'Laguna Wilcacocha' or 'Pueblo de Wilcacocha.' The ride will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will drop you off at the entrance to the lake. From there, it's a short walk to the lake itself. Make sure to check the return schedule for the minibuses to avoid being stranded.
