If you're driving from Abancay, take the PE-3S highway heading south towards Andahuaylas. Continue on this road for approximately 84 km until you reach the intersection with PE-22. Turn left onto PE-22 and drive for about 35 km. After passing through the town of Tambo, follow the signs to Sóndor, which is about 10 km further down the road. You will arrive at the archaeological site located at coordinates 9PVJ+8FG, 03730.
Public Transportation
To reach Sóndor via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Abancay to Andahuaylas. Buses to Andahuaylas are available at the main bus terminal in Abancay. The journey takes about 2 hours and costs around 15-20 soles. Once in Andahuaylas, take a local minibus or taxi to Sóndor. The minibus ride will take approximately 30 minutes and should cost around 5-10 soles. Make sure to confirm the final destination with the driver.
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Abancay to Sóndor. This option is more expensive, typically costing between 150-200 soles, but it offers convenience. The journey will take about 1.5 hours. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand.
