Mirador Santa Apolonia: A Breathtaking Viewpoint in Cajamarca

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the city center of Cajamarca, start by heading east on Avenida José de la Torre Ugarte. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida de la Cultura. Turn left onto Avenida de la Cultura, and after a short distance, turn right onto Avenida Atahualpa. Follow this road uphill until you reach the entrance of Mirador Santa Apolonia. There is typically parking available near the entrance.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a local bus or collectivo (shared taxi) from the main square (Plaza de Armas) in Cajamarca. Look for buses heading towards 'Santa Apolonia' or ask locals for directions. The fare is usually around 1-2 soles. The bus will drop you off at the base of the hill leading to the Mirador. From there, you can either walk up the hill (approximately a 15-20 minute walk) or hire a local taxi to drive you up for a small fee.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of the Mirador Santa Apolonia, you can walk there. From the Plaza de Armas, head east on Avenida José de la Torre Ugarte, then follow the directions for public transportation to the base of the hill. The walk up to the Mirador from the base takes about 15-20 minutes, and the path is well-marked. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the incline can be steep.
