Car
If you are traveling by car from Arequipa to Colca Canyon, take the Pan-American Highway (Route 1S) towards Yura. After approximately 30 km, follow the signs to Colca Canyon, which will take you through the town of Chivay. From Chivay, continue for about 30 more minutes to reach the entrance of Colca Canyon. Make sure to have cash ready for the entrance fee, which is about 70 PEN (Peruvian Soles).
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Colca Canyon via public transport, head to the Arequipa bus terminal and look for buses heading to Chivay. The bus ride takes around 5-6 hours and costs approximately 30-50 PEN. Once in Chivay, you can take a local taxi or a shared van to reach the canyon's entrance, which is about 30 minutes away. The taxi fare should be around 10-15 PEN.
