Bus
To get to Ollantaytambo from Cusco, head to the Cusco bus terminal located at Av. Jose Larco. Look for the buses that are heading to Ollantaytambo, which are marked accordingly. Once you find the right bus, purchase a ticket from the ticket counter or the bus attendant. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. The bus will drop you off in the center of Ollantaytambo, from where you can easily walk to the main attractions.
Collective Taxi (Shared Taxi)
From the center of Cusco, you can take a collective taxi to Ollantaytambo. Head to the designated taxi stands, usually located near Plaza San Francisco or Avenida de la Cultura. Look for a taxi that is going to Ollantaytambo and share the ride with other passengers. The fare should be around 10-15 soles per person, and the trip will take about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. The taxi will drop you off at the main plaza in Ollantaytambo.
Train
If you prefer a scenic route, consider taking a train from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. Start at the San Pedro train station in Cusco. Check the schedule in advance and purchase your ticket online or at the station. The train ride offers beautiful views of the Sacred Valley and takes approximately 2 hours. The train will arrive directly at the Ollantaytambo train station, which is close to the town center.
