Getting There

Bus
Start at the main bus terminal in Cusco, located at Av. José Larco. Look for a bus heading to Urubamba. The fare is usually around 10-15 soles and the journey takes about 1 hour. Confirm with the driver that the bus will stop at Maras. When you arrive in Urubamba, get off at the main square.

Collectivo
From the Urubamba main square, you can find collectivos (shared taxis) that go to Maras. They leave when they are full. Look for collectivos that have 'Maras' written on them. The fare is around 5-10 soles and takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Salt Mine of Maras, located just off the main road.

Walking
If you prefer walking from the collectivo drop-off point, follow the signs towards the Salt Mine. It is about a 15-minute walk uphill from the main road. The path is well-trodden, and there are signs in Spanish leading you to the entrance of the Salt Mine. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
