Public Transportation
From the main square (Plaza de Armas) in Cusco, head to the local bus terminal located on Avenida Antonio Lorena. Look for a bus heading towards Tipón or the surrounding area. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver or conductor that you want to get off at Tipón. The buses are usually marked with their destination. Once you arrive at Tipón, you will need to walk for about 15 minutes to reach the entrance of Tipón Archaeological Park.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a taxi from the Plaza de Armas. Make sure to agree on a fare before starting your journey; the approximate cost should be around 30-40 soles. The ride will take about 25-30 minutes depending on traffic. Ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Tipón Archaeological Park.
Walking and Hiking
For the adventurous, you can hike from Cusco to Tipón. Start your hike from the Plaza de Armas and head southeast towards Avenida de la Cultura. Continue on this road, following the signs towards Tipón. The hike is approximately 12 km and will take around 3-4 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry enough water, as the terrain can be challenging.
