Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Cusco and take the route towards the Sacred Valley. Follow the signs towards Ollantaytambo. Once you reach Ollantaytambo, continue on the road until you reach Huayllabamba. Look for the sign that directs you to MachuQolqa Viewpoint (JWPJ+8VP) and park in a designated area near the viewpoint. The drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. Buses leave frequently from the Cusco bus terminal and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Ollantaytambo, you can catch a local colectivo (shared taxi) or a bus to Huayllabamba. Inform the driver that you want to go to MachuQolqa Viewpoint. The colectivo will take approximately 30 minutes to reach Huayllabamba. You may need to pay a small fee for the colectivo, generally around 10-15 soles.
Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous and are already on the Inca Trail, you can hike to MachuQolqa Viewpoint. From the Inca Trail, head towards Huayllabamba. The hike can be challenging, taking about 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach the viewpoint, enjoy the breathtaking views. Ensure you have enough water and snacks for the hike.
