Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a local bus from Aguas Calientes to the start of the Inca Trail. Buses frequently depart from the main bus depot in Aguas Calientes. The fare is typically around 5-10 soles. Once you arrive at the trailhead, you will need to hike approximately 1 to 2 kilometers to reach Puente Inka. The walk takes about 30 minutes, and you will find signs directing you along the route.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Aguas Calientes to Puente Inka, start at the main square and head towards the river. Follow the path along the riverbank which leads to Puente Inka. This scenic walk is around 3 kilometers and takes approximately 1 hour. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the trail can be uneven and hilly.
