Motorcycle Taxi
To reach Bosque de Huayo from any point in Punchana, you can take a motorcycle taxi, which is a common and convenient mode of transport in the area. Simply flag down a motorcycle taxi on the street or use a local taxi-hailing app if available. Inform the driver that you want to go to 'Carr. Iquitos-Nauta Km 13.8, Varillal.' The fare should be around 10-15 soles, depending on your starting point.
Bicycle
For those who prefer a more active approach, renting a bicycle is a great option. Several rental shops can be found in Punchana. After renting a bike, head towards the main road leading out of Punchana. Follow the road signs towards Iquitos-Nauta and continue cycling until you reach Km 13.8. The ride will take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your pace.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and have the stamina, you can walk to Bosque de Huayo. Start by heading towards the main road from your location in Punchana. Follow the Iquitos-Nauta road, which is well marked. Keep walking for approximately 3-4 kilometers until you reach Km 13.8. This will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
