Getting There

From the main entrance of Machu Picchu, head towards the Inca Trail entrance sign. Follow the marked trail that leads uphill. The path is well-defined and follows the contours of the mountain. Look for signs indicating the direction to the Temple of the Sun. The hike will take approximately 30 minutes. Keep an eye out for the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Once you reach the Temple of the Sun, take some time to explore. From there, continue walking towards the Intihuatana (the ritual stone associated with astronomy). It's a short 10-minute walk, and you’ll find signs pointing the way. After visiting the Intihuatana, make your way towards the agricultural terraces, which are located just to the southeast of the Intihuatana. It's about a 5-minute walk down the path.

If you wish to see the Inca Bridge, return to the main path and follow the signs to the Inca Bridge. This is a 15-minute walk, and the trail will take you through lush vegetation. The Inca Bridge is an impressive sight, built into the rock face.
