Car
If you are driving from the town of Paracas, head southeast on the Pan-American Highway (Route 1) for about 14 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards the Paracas National Reserve. Once you reach the entrance to the reserve, pay the entrance fee (approximately 11 soles per person) and continue driving. Follow the main road within the reserve, which will lead you to various viewpoints and beaches. After about 8 kilometers inside the reserve, you will see a sign for Playa Mendieta. Turn left and drive for another 2 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the beach.

Public Transportation
From Paracas, take a local bus or taxi that is heading to the entrance of the Paracas National Reserve. The fare is usually around 5-10 soles, depending on the mode of transportation. Upon arrival at the entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee to access the reserve. Once inside, you may need to hire a local taxi or join a tour group that can take you to Playa Mendieta, as public transportation options within the reserve are limited. The taxi fare to reach Playa Mendieta from the entrance is generally around 30 soles.

Bicycle Rental
For the adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Paracas for about 20-30 soles for the day. Start your ride from Paracas and head towards the entrance of the Paracas National Reserve. After paying the entrance fee, continue cycling along the designated paths within the reserve. Follow the main road until you reach the sign for Playa Mendieta, then take the left turn and ride the remaining 2 kilometers to the beach. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen, as there are limited facilities along the way.
