Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Sagada in Mountain Province. From Baguio City, take the Halsema Highway (also known as the Baguio-Bontoc Road). The drive takes approximately 6-7 hours. As you approach Sagada, look for signs leading to the town center. Upon reaching Sagada, follow the signs towards Sumaguing Cave. The cave is located about 4 kilometers from the town center along South Road. There is parking available near the cave entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Sumaguing Cave via public transportation, you can take a bus from Baguio City to Sagada. Several bus companies operate this route, including GL Trans and Lizardo Transit. The journey takes about 6-7 hours. Once you arrive in Sagada, you can hire a local tricycle to take you directly to Sumaguing Cave. The tricycle fare is around PHP 50-100, depending on your negotiation skills. The cave is approximately 4 kilometers from the town proper.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from the town center of Sagada to Sumaguing Cave, it is a scenic trek of about 1 hour. Start from the town square and head south towards the cave entrance. The path is well-marked, and you will enjoy views of the surrounding landscapes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
