Mount Alig: Nature's Majesty in Bukidnon

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Cagayan de Oro, head southeast on the Cagayan de Oro - Bukidnon Road (also known as the Sayre Highway). Continue for about 100 km until you reach the junction near Maramag. Turn left at the junction and proceed towards Maramag town. Once in Maramag, follow local signage to Mount Alig, which is located at RWWM+PQ9. The drive takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on traffic conditions.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  From Cagayan de Oro, take a bus bound for Bukidnon (look for ones labeled 'Bukidnon' at the Agora Bus Terminal). The bus ride takes around 2-3 hours. Disembark at the Maramag bus terminal. From the terminal, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (habal-habal) to take you directly to Mount Alig. The motorcycle ride will cost around 100-150 PHP and takes approximately 30 minutes.

• Motorcycle Taxi (Habal-Habal)

  Once you arrive at the Maramag bus terminal, you can hire a habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) to reach Mount Alig. Agree on a fare before starting the trip; it typically costs between 100-150 PHP. The ride will take you through rural roads, offering beautiful views of the Bukidnon landscape, and will take about 30 minutes.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from the habal-habal drop-off point near Mount Alig, you can expect to hike approximately 1-2 km depending on where you are dropped off. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear as the terrain may be uneven.
