Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the main road leading to Mt. Pulag National Park. From the town of Kabayan, follow the road towards the Mt. Pulag Ranger Station. It is approximately a 30-minute drive from Kabayan to the Ranger Station. Park your vehicle at the designated parking area near the Ranger Station. From there, you will need to hike approximately 4 kilometers to reach the Mt. Pulag Radio Tower along the Saddle Camp Trail. Ensure you have a map or guide as the trail can be steep and winding.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a jeepney or bus from Baguio City to Kabayan. The journey takes about 4-5 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Kabayan, you can hire a local guide or join a group to take a tricycle or motorbike to the Mt. Pulag Ranger Station. The ride from Kabayan to the Ranger Station is approximately 30 minutes. After reaching the Ranger Station, you will need to hike about 4 kilometers to the Mt. Pulag Radio Tower via the Saddle Camp Trail. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and carry enough water and snacks for the hike.
Hiking
Regardless of your mode of transportation to the Ranger Station, you will need to hike to reach the Mt. Pulag Radio Tower. The trail is well-marked, but it is recommended to go with a local guide if you are unfamiliar with the area. The hike typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of the mountain landscape and the unique flora and fauna of the region. Be mindful of the weather as conditions can change rapidly in mountainous areas.
