Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car from Zakopane, head out on the DK47 road towards Nowy Targ. After about 20 km, take the exit onto S7 towards Kraków. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the exit for Szczawnica. Follow the signs to Pieniny National Park. The drive should take around 1 hour. Make sure to have some cash handy for parking fees in the area, which may vary depending on the location.

Public Transportation

From Zakopane, you can reach Pieniny by taking a bus to Nowy Targ. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Nowy Targ, transfer to a bus heading to Szczawnica. This leg will take approximately 1 hour. Upon arriving in Szczawnica, you can take local transportation or walk to the entrance of Pieniny National Park, which is about 5 km away. Keep some small change for bus fares, as they may not accept card payments.

Taxi

If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Zakopane to Pieniny. This option is more expensive, with fares typically starting at around 200 PLN. The journey will take approximately 1 hour, providing a convenient and comfortable way to reach your destination without the hassle of transfers.

Bicycle

For the more adventurous, consider cycling from Zakopane to Pieniny. The route is approximately 35 km and will take you through scenic landscapes. Ensure you have a good map or GPS device.
