If you are driving from Albufeira, head southwest on Av. da Liberdade toward Rua 25 de Abril. Continue straight to stay on Av. da Liberdade, which will turn into N395. After about 5 kilometers, turn left onto N125, following signs for Faro. Continue for approximately 20 kilometers, then take the exit towards Faro. Follow the signs for Faro center. Once in the city, follow directions to Praça do Afonso III. The Cidade Velha is located at this square.

To reach Cidade Velha from Albufeira using public transportation, take the bus from the Albufeira bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Albufeira). Look for the bus that goes to Faro, which usually runs every hour. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Faro bus station, exit the station and head towards Avenida da República. Walk straight until you reach Praça do Afonso III, where Cidade Velha is located.
