  • Bus

    From the center of Braga, walk to the bus station located at Avenida da Liberdade. Look for the bus line heading to Guimarães, which is clearly marked. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Guimarães bus station, exit the station and follow the signs towards the historic center. From there, you can take a local bus or walk to the base of Penha.

    Make your way to the Braga train station, which is located at Rua de D. João IV. Purchase a ticket for the train to Guimarães. The train ride will take about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Guimarães station, exit the station and walk towards the bus stop outside. Take a local bus heading towards Penha, or you can opt to walk to the base of the hill, which will take around 30 minutes.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to explore on foot, start from the center of Braga and head towards Rua de São Marcos. Continue straight until you reach the Avenida da Liberdade. Follow this road for about 6 kilometers towards Guimarães. It will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to walk, depending on your pace. Once you reach Guimarães, look for signs leading to Penha.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Braga to Guimarães. Simply flag down a taxi in the city center or use a ride-hailing app. The drive will take around 20-30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the base of Penha in Guimarães.
