Bus
From Braga, head to the Braga Bus Station (Terminal Rodoviário de Braga) located at Av. da Liberdade, 90. You can walk there from the city center, which is about 10-15 minutes on foot. Once at the bus station, purchase a ticket to Guimarães. Buses to Guimarães run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival at Guimarães Bus Station, exit the station, and you will see Largo da República do Brasil a short 10-minute walk away. Head southeast on Rua da Estação, turn left onto Rua de Sousa Aroso, and then right onto Rua de D. João IV. Continue straight until you reach Largo da República do Brasil.
Train
From Braga, make your way to the Braga Train Station (Estação de Braga) located at Av. da Liberdade, 1. This is about a 10-minute walk from the city center. At the station, buy a ticket for the train to Guimarães. Trains run every hour and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Guimarães Train Station, exit and walk straight down Av. da República for about 15 minutes until you reach Largo da República do Brasil.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk to Guimarães from Braga. The distance is approximately 25 kilometers. Start from the city center of Braga, heading east along Av. da Liberdade, then follow the signs towards Guimarães. The walk will take about 5-6 hours, so make sure to bring water and snacks. Follow the scenic route through the countryside, and enjoy the beautiful views along the way.
