Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Braga city center, head to the bus station located at Avenida da Liberdade. Look for bus line 2, which goes directly to Ponte de Lima. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ponte de Lima, disembark at the main bus station. From there, exit the station and walk straight ahead on Rua do Ramalhete until you reach the river. Cross the bridge and take a left onto Passeio 25 de Abril. The Tower Cadeia Velha will be on your right.

• Train and Walk

  Start from Braga's train station (Estação de Braga) and take a train heading to Valença. The train ride is approximately 50 minutes. Upon arriving at the Valença station, you will need to catch a regional bus to Ponte de Lima. After reaching Ponte de Lima, head towards the bus station, and from there, walk along Rua da Liberdade until you reach the river. Cross the bridge and turn left onto Passeio 25 de Abril, where the Tower Cadeia Velha is located.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the central area of Ponte de Lima, the Tower Cadeia Velha is easily accessible on foot. Start at the Praça da República, the main square. Head south on Rua do Loureiro, then turn right onto Rua D. João IV. Continue until you reach the river, then cross the bridge. Once crossed, take a left onto Passeio 25 de Abril, and you will see the tower on your right-hand side.
