From Coimbra, head to the main bus station, called 'Terminal Rodoviário de Coimbra', which is located at Av. Fernão de Magalhães. You can walk there from the city center or take a local bus. Once at the station, purchase a ticket for 'Buçaco'. The bus journey takes approximately 30 minutes. After arriving at the 'Buçaco' bus stop, follow the signs leading to Serra do Buçaco. It’s about a 15-minute walk uphill to reach the entrance of the park.

Begin your journey at Coimbra-A train station, which is centrally located. Take a train towards 'Luso', which runs frequently. Once you arrive at Luso station, you will see a bus stop nearby. Catch the local bus that goes to 'Buçaco'. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes. Once you get off at the 'Buçaco' bus stop, it's a short 15-minute walk to the entrance of Serra do Buçaco.

If you’re feeling adventurous and want to hike to Serra do Buçaco directly, you can walk from Coimbra. Start at the city center and head towards the east, following signs for the N234 road. The hike is approximately 13 kilometers and will take around 3 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the path is hilly and can be challenging.
