Getting There

Walking
From the center of Guimarães, head towards the bus station (Estação de Autocarros de Guimarães), which is located near the Praça da República. Once you reach the bus station, you will see signs pointing towards Braga. Follow these signs to the bus stop just outside the station. Take bus number 1, which travels to Braga. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Braga, disembark at the Praça da República stop. The Praça da República is a well-known square in Braga, and you will find it directly in front of you as you exit the bus.

Public Transport (Train and Walk)
From Guimarães, walk to the train station (Estação de Comboios de Guimarães), which is about a 15-minute walk from the city center. Head south on Rua de Camões, then turn left onto Avenida de Dom João IV. Continue straight until you reach the train station. Purchase a ticket to Braga (Braga is on the same line). The train ride takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Braga's train station, exit the station and walk straight ahead to Rua de São Vicente. Turn right onto Avenida da Liberdade and continue walking until you reach Praça da República, which will be on your left.
