    Start your journey at the heart of Guimarães, in the historic center. If you are near Praça de São Tiago, head southeast towards Rua de São Tiago. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua de Gil Vicente. Turn left onto Rua de Gil Vicente and walk until you reach the end of the street. Here, you should see the beautiful Guimarães Castle. From the castle, continue walking straight onto Rua de Santa Maria, which will lead you directly to the beautiful Parque da Cidade. Cross the park to the north, and you will find a path leading you to the Ponte medieval.

    From the central bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Guimarães), take bus line 2 (Linha 2) heading towards 'Serra'. Disembark at the 'Ponte' stop, which is about a 15-minute ride.
