Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Guimarães city center, head towards the Praça da Oliveira. From the square, walk along the Rua de São Francisco until you reach the intersection with Rua Conde Dom Henrique. Turn left onto Rua Conde Dom Henrique, and continue walking straight for about 10 minutes. Guimarães Castle will be on your right, marked by its tall stone walls and towers.

  • Public Transport

    For those starting at the Guimarães train station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop located right outside. Take bus line 61 or 5, which heads towards the city center. Get off at the 'Praça da Oliveira' stop. From there, walk along Rua de São Francisco until you reach the intersection with Rua Conde Dom Henrique. Turn left onto Rua Conde Dom Henrique and continue for about 10 minutes until you see Guimarães Castle on your right.
