NUNO & OUR DAY IN THE DOURO VALLEY

A spectacular & one of a kind experience While the Douro Valley was beyond description, it was Nuno, our friendly, knowledgeable, warm, informative, & genuine tour guide, who made this truly a day of a lifetime We are grateful for having had the opportunity to spend the day with Nuno as our host & guide And as a man who grew up. In the valley, he brought us to a bakery where his own grandmother baked, a restaurant in the Tua Valley where he was well known & where we were treated royalty, & then, as a unexpected surprise, we were brought to a port vineyard owned by a friend of his who allowed us to not only to witness his port making operation, but who, was also able to invite us in to his lagar to get in to it literally to stamp the grapes & then be treated with a taste of a 45 year old port Unbeknownst to us. this turned out to be a private tour And Nano treated us as if we were family I can go on & on, but suffice to say, this was an experience for which no value can be placed Indeed, it was, & Nuno was PRICELESS And I was taught a Portuguese word, which I will phonetically “spell” to try to describe our feelings for Nuno & our e incredible experience “ Fan tash ti co”
