Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are already in Chiado, simply walk towards R. Áurea. Head to the square Praça do Comércio, which is a large open square located towards the river. From there, walk north on R. da Prata until you reach R. Áurea. Turn right on R. Áurea, and you will find Chiado / Baixa at R. Áurea 156.

  • Metro

    If you are further away from Chiado, you can take the Lisbon Metro. Get on the Green Line at the nearest station, which could be Baixa-Chiado. Once you arrive at the Baixa-Chiado station, take the exit towards R. Áurea. From the station exit, walk straight for about 5 minutes; Chiado / Baixa will be on your right at R. Áurea 156. Note that a single metro ticket costs approximately €1.50.

  • Tram

    Another scenic option is to take the famous Tram 28. Board the tram at any of its stops, and enjoy the ride through historic Lisbon. Get off at the stop 'Prazeres' and walk towards R. Áurea. It is about a 10-minute walk. Follow the signs directing you to Chiado. The tram ride costs around €3.00 for a single journey.

  • Bus

    You can also take bus number 758 or 742. Board the bus at a nearby bus stop, and ride until you reach the stop 'Pç. do Comércio'. From there, walk north on R. da Prata, then turn right onto R. Áurea. Chiado / Baixa will be located at R. Áurea 156. A bus ticket costs approximately €1.50, which you can buy on the bus.
