Walking
If you're in the heart of Chiado, head towards the famous Rua Garrett. Walk down this street until you reach the intersection with Rua do Carmo. Turn left onto Rua do Carmo and continue straight. You will see the iconic Elevador de Santa Justa on your right. Continue walking straight until you reach Largo do Chiado, which will be on your left after a short walk. This area is a bustling square filled with cafes and shops, perfect for a brief rest or a coffee.
Public Transport (Metro)
If you are further away from Largo do Chiado, you can take the Lisbon Metro. The closest metro station is Baixa-Chiado, which is on the Blue and Green lines. From Chiado, walk to the nearest metro station (Baixa-Chiado) by following Rua do Carmo. Once at the metro station, purchase a ticket from the ticket machine (about €1.50). Take the Metro to the Baixa-Chiado station, exit the station and follow the signs to Largo do Chiado. Upon exiting, you will find yourself right at the square.
Tram
For a scenic route, consider taking Tram 28. Head to the nearest tram stop, which is likely at Rua da Conceição or Largo do Camões. Purchase a ticket at the ticket machine (around €3.00 for a single ride). Board Tram 28 and enjoy the ride through the historic neighborhoods. Get off at the stop labeled 'Largo do Chiado'. The square is just a short walk from the tram stop, and you will be welcomed by the vibrant atmosphere of the area.
