Bus
From Setúbal, walk to the Setúbal Bus Station (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal), which is about a 10-minute walk from the city center. Take the bus for Lisbon, and specifically look for buses heading towards Praça do Chile. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Lisbon, walk to the nearby Campo Pequeno metro station and take the Yellow Line (Linha Amarela) in the direction of Rato. After 6 stops, get off at the Cais do Sodré station. From there, transfer to the Green Line (Linha Verde) and ride for 2 stops to the Alcântara-Mar station. Finally, take the tram 15E towards Praça da Figueira and get off at the Jerónimos Monastery stop. You’ll find the monastery just a short walk away.
Train
From Setúbal Train Station, take the train to Lisbon’s Roma station. This train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Roma station, walk to the Roma metro station and take the Red Line (Linha Vermelha) towards São Sebastião. After 4 stops, change at São Sebastião station to the Blue Line (Linha Azul) towards Santa Apolónia. Ride for 3 stops and get off at the Jardim Zoológico station. From there, transfer to the tram 28E and ride for 8 stops until you reach the Jerónimos Monastery stop, which is a short walk from the monastery entrance.
Ferry
Walk to the Setúbal Ferry Terminal and take a ferry to Lisbon. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes and offers beautiful views of the river. Once you arrive at the Cais do Sodré ferry terminal in Lisbon, walk to the nearby metro station and take the Green Line (Linha Verde) towards Campo Grande. Get off at the Cais do Sodré station and transfer to tram 15E, which you will take towards Praça da Figueira. Ride for 5 stops and disembark at the Jerónimos Monastery stop. The monastery will be a short walk from the tram stop.
