To reach Palácio Nacional de Belém from Setúbal, start by heading to the Setúbal train station (Estação de Comboios de Setúbal). Purchase a ticket to Lisbon (Lisboa) which generally takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Lisbon's principal train station (Estação do Rossio or Estação de Santa Apolónia), exit the station and head to the nearest metro station. Take the metro (Blue Line) towards Amadora Este and change at Baixa-Chiado station to the Green Line towards Cais do Sodré. Get off at Cais do Sodré station and exit towards the waterfront. From here, you can either walk along the riverfront or take tram 15E towards Algés. Get off at the 'Belém' stop, and the Palácio Nacional de Belém is a short walk from the tram stop.

From Setúbal, you can take the bus from Setúbal bus terminal (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal) to Lisbon. Look for buses heading towards Lisbon (Lisboa) that typically take about 50 minutes. When you arrive at Lisbon's bus terminal (Terminal Rodoviário do Campo Grande), follow the signs to the metro station. Take the metro (Green Line) towards Cais do Sodré and get off at the 'Belém' station. From the metro station, it's a 10-minute walk to Palácio Nacional de Belém. Follow the signs towards the river and the palace will be clearly marked.
