Walking
If you are in the center of Setúbal, start by heading towards the Setúbal train station (Estação de Setúbal). It's approximately a 15-minute walk from the city center. From the station, exit onto Avenida 5 de Outubro and walk straight until you reach the waterfront promenade. Turn right and follow the coast until you find the bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal). Take the bus to Lisbon. The bus ride will take around 50 minutes to 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Lisbon bus terminal (Sete Rios or Oriente), you can either take the metro or a taxi to Largo do Carmo. If you choose the metro, take the Blue Line (Linha Azul) towards Santa Apolónia and change at Baixa-Chiado to the Green Line (Linha Verde) towards Cais do Sodré. Get off at the Chiado station, and from there, it is a short 5-minute walk to Largo do Carmo.

To reach Chafariz do Carmo from Setúbal, first head to the Setúbal bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal) and catch a bus to Lisbon. The bus ride will take about an hour. Once you arrive in Lisbon, disembark at the main bus terminal. From there, you can take the metro (subway) from the nearby station. Board the Blue Line (Linha Azul) heading towards Santa Apolónia. Change at the Baixa-Chiado station to the Green Line (Linha Verde) towards Cais do Sodré. Get off at the Chiado station. From the Chiado metro station, exit and walk towards Largo do Carmo, which is about a 5-minute walk away.
