Walking
If you are in the center of Vila Real, head towards Avenida Carvalho Araújo and walk straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rua de Cândido dos Reis. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the train station (Estação de Vila Real). From there, you can catch a train to Guimarães.
Train
Once you arrive at the train station in Vila Real, purchase a ticket to Guimarães. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule at the station. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival at Guimarães train station, exit the station and head towards the main road (Avenida de Londres).
Walking
After exiting Guimarães train station, walk down Avenida de Londres until you reach the intersection with Rua de São Gonçalo. Turn right onto Rua de São Gonçalo and continue straight. You will pass several shops and cafés. After about 600 meters, turn left onto Largo da Oliveira. The Padrão do Salado will be located on your right at 6, Largo da Oliveira 5.
Public Transport
Alternatively, from Guimarães train station, you can take a local bus to the city center. Look for bus lines that head towards Largo da Oliveira. After getting off at the stop, walk towards Largo da Oliveira, and you will find Padrão do Salado at 6, Largo da Oliveira 5.
