    If you are starting from the popular tourist area of Old San Juan, make your way to Calle San Francisco. Walk down this street until you reach Plaza de Armas, a central square filled with shops and cafes. From Plaza de Armas, head towards Calle de la Fortaleza and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Calle San José. Turn right onto Calle San José and follow it as it curves left into Calle del Cristo. Continue on until you reach the iconic San Juan Gate (Puerta de San Juan). After passing through the gate, you will see the waterfront. Head to the left along the coastal path until you reach the intersection with Calle de la Marina. Turn right onto Calle de la Marina, and shortly after, you will find Bastión de Santa Elena on your left, at the coordinates FV9G+8VG.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From any point in San Juan, make your way to a bus stop that services the 'AMA' public bus system. Look for the bus route that goes to Old San Juan. Once on the bus, ask the driver to notify you when you arrive at 'La Fortaleza'. After getting off at La Fortaleza, head towards Calle de la Fortaleza. Walk straight down this street until you reach Calle San José. Turn right onto Calle San José, which will take you to Calle del Cristo. Continue on until you reach the San Juan Gate (Puerta de San Juan). After passing through the gate, head left along the coastal path, and soon you will come across Bastión de Santa Elena on your left.

Follow the bike paths along the waterfront until you reach the San Juan Gate (Puerta de San Juan). After entering through the gate, make a left turn and follow the coastal path.
