If you're driving from the Old Harbor area in Block Island, start by heading southwest on Ocean Avenue. Continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Chapel Street. Turn left onto Chapel Street. After about 0.3 miles, turn right onto West Side Road, which will eventually connect you to the ferry terminal. From there, take the ferry to Newport. Once you arrive in Newport, exit the ferry and follow America's Cup Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Thames Street. Turn right onto Thames Street and then take a left onto Memorial Boulevard. Continue on Memorial Boulevard until you reach Ochre Point Avenue. The Breakers will be on your left at 44 Ochre Point Ave.
Public Transportation
From Old Harbor in Block Island, walk to the Block Island Ferry terminal. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Newport. The ferry ride takes about an hour, and you can enjoy the scenic views of the ocean. Once you arrive at the Newport ferry terminal, you can take a local bus or a rideshare service to get to The Breakers. If you prefer to walk, exit the terminal and walk along America's Cup Avenue until you reach Thames Street, then turn left. Follow Thames Street to Memorial Boulevard and take a left. Continue until you reach Ochre Point Avenue, where The Breakers is located at 44 Ochre Point Ave.
