    If you're already in Burlingame State Park, start by heading west on Burlingame State Park Road. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto Route 1 (South). Continue on Route 1 for approximately 10 miles. Take the exit for RI-138 East towards Newport. Merge onto RI-138 and follow it for about 8 miles. As you approach Newport, take the exit for Bellevue Avenue. Continue on Bellevue Avenue, and you will find the Redwood Library and Athenaeum at 50 Bellevue Ave on your right.

    From Burlingame State Park, you will need to arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to take you to the nearest bus station, which is approximately 7 miles away in Wakefield. From the Wakefield bus station, take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus #60 towards Newport. The bus will take you directly to Newport. Disembark at the stop closest to Bellevue Avenue. From there, it's a short walk (about 0.2 miles) to the Redwood Library and Athenaeum located at 50 Bellevue Ave.
