To reach Washington Square in Newport, take the RIPTA bus number 60 from Narragansett. Board the bus at the Narragansett Pier bus stop. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to have exact change for the fare, which is around $2.50. Stay on the bus until you reach the Newport Gateway Center. From there, transfer to the Newport trolley or walk approximately 15 minutes to Washington Square, which is a historic area filled with shops and restaurants.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle in Narragansett. Head towards the Narragansett Sea Wall and follow the scenic bike path along the coast. Continue along the bike path until you reach the intersection with Ocean Drive. Turn left onto Ocean Drive and follow it until you reach the entrance to Newport. Once in Newport, navigate towards Thames Street, and follow the signs to Washington Square. The total bike ride is about 10 miles and should take around 1-1.5 hours, depending on your pace.

Follow Point Judith Road until you reach the intersection with Ocean Road. Continue walking on Ocean Road heading north, then turn left on to Route 138. You will follow Route 138 until it leads you into Newport. Once you reach Newport, head towards Thames Street and follow it to Washington Square. This walk is approximately 7 miles and will take around 2-3 hours.
