Public Transit - Bus
From the center of New Bedford, head to the nearest bus stop on Acushnet Avenue. Take the GATRA bus towards Fall River and get off at the stop for the New Bedford Terminal. Once there, transfer to the Peter Pan bus service heading to Newport, RI. After approximately an hour, you will arrive in Newport. From the Newport Bus Station, walk towards America's Cup Avenue and take a right. Continue walking until you reach Clarke Street, then take a left. The Artillery Co of Newport will be on your right at 23 Clarke St.

If you're already near the waterfront in New Bedford, start at the New Bedford Whaling Museum on Johnny Cake Hill. Head down to the waterfront and walk towards the ferry terminal. From there, you can take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and connect through to Newport. Upon arrival in Newport, walk towards the downtown area, and follow the directions from the bus station as described above.

For those who prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in New Bedford. Start cycling towards the East Bay Bike Path, which connects to the scenic areas leading to Bristol. Once you reach Bristol, follow the signs towards Newport. This route will take you along the waterfront and through parks. After approximately 15 miles, you will enter Newport. Once in Newport, navigate towards Clarke Street, which is a short ride from the main attractions in the city.
