If you are driving from Narragansett Beach, start by heading north on Ocean Road towards Route 1. Continue on Ocean Road until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Take a left onto Route 1 North. Follow Route 1 for about 10 miles. Take exit 18 for Route 138 East towards Newport. Merge onto Route 138 and continue for about 5 miles. As you enter Newport, stay in the right lane to merge onto Route 238 S. Continue straight onto Bellevue Avenue. The Redwood Library and Athenaeum will be on your left at 50 Bellevue Ave. Look for the historic building; there is parking available nearby.

To reach the Redwood Library and Athenaeum by public transportation, start by finding the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus service. You can take the 60 Bus from Narragansett Beach to Newport. Board the bus at the nearest stop on Ocean Road. The bus will take you directly to Newport. Once in Newport, you will need to get off at the stop nearest to Bellevue Avenue. Walk towards Bellevue Avenue, and the Redwood Library and Athenaeum will be about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Look for the historic library building at 50 Bellevue Ave.
