Getting There

Bus
From Narragansett, head to the nearest bus stop on Ocean Road. Take the RIPTA Route 66 bus heading towards South Kingston. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the South Kingston Train Station. From there, transfer to the Route 15 bus towards New Bedford. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the New Bedford Stop. Once you get off, walk towards William Street for about 5 minutes. The New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park Visitor Center will be on your left.

Bicycle
If you are comfortable riding a bicycle, you can cycle from Narragansett to New Bedford. Start by heading north on Ocean Road, then take a right onto Point Judith Road. Continue on this road until you reach Route 1. Follow Route 1 north for a few miles until you reach the intersection with Route 18. Take Route 18 directly into New Bedford. Once you hit the city, follow signs for downtown and look for William Street. The Visitor Center is located at 33 William St.

Walking
Walking from Narragansett to New Bedford is quite a long distance, but if you wish to enjoy the scenery, you can start at Narragansett Town Beach. Walk north along the beach towards the Narragansett Pier. Continue on the sidewalk along Ocean Road until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Follow Route 1 north until you reach New Bedford. Note that this is a long trek and may take several hours, so it's advisable to take public transport or bike if possible.
