From Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge, head west on S. County Trail (RI-1) toward Kingston. Merge onto RI-1 N and continue for about 12 miles. Take exit 3B for RI-138 E toward Newport. Follow RI-138 E for approximately 7 miles, then merge onto US-1 S. Continue for about 2 miles and take the exit toward Newport. Follow the signs for Washington Square. The Colony House - Former State House will be located on Washington Square, Newport, RI 02840.
