If you're coming from downtown Newport, head south on Thames Street towards Memorial Boulevard. Continue on Memorial Boulevard for about 1 mile until you reach the traffic circle. Take the second exit onto Ocean Drive (RI-138) and follow it for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Fort Adams Drive, and you’ll see the entrance to Fort Adams State Park on your right.

To reach Fort Adams State Park by public transportation, you can take the Newport Public Transportation bus service. Board the Route 67 bus towards Fort Adams. The bus will take you along the scenic Ocean Drive. Get off at the Fort Adams stop, and from there, it’s just a short walk to the entrance of the park at 80 Fort Adams Dr.

For those who prefer to cycle, start at the Newport harbor area and take the scenic Ocean Drive bike path. Follow Ocean Drive for about 2 miles, enjoying the waterfront views.
