Bus
From Pawtucket, locate the nearest bus stop. You can take the RIPTA bus number 60 or 14. If you are at Pawtucket City Hall, walk to the bus stop on Main Street. Board the bus heading towards Newport. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Fort Adams State Park, which is near the intersection of Fort Adams Drive and Harrison Avenue. From there, it's a short walk of about 5 minutes to the entrance of Fort Adams State Park.
Bike
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle in Pawtucket. Start from the downtown area and head south on Main Street. Continue on to East Avenue, which will lead you towards Newport via the scenic bike paths. The total biking distance is approximately 6 miles and will take around 30-40 minutes depending on your speed. Follow the signs for Fort Adams State Park once you reach Newport.
Walking
Walking to Fort Adams State Park from Pawtucket is not practical due to the distance (approximately 7 miles). However, if you are up for a long hike, start by heading south on Main Street towards Newport. You will walk along the sidewalks and follow the signs towards East Avenue. Once you reach Newport, continue straight until you reach Fort Adams Drive. The state park will be on your left after crossing the bridge. This walk can take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace.
