Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from downtown Providence, head northwest on Washington Street. Walk for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Westminster Street. Turn left onto Westminster Street and continue walking for another 0.2 miles. At the next major intersection, turn right onto Empire Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with South Main Street. Turn left onto South Main Street and walk for about 0.1 miles, then turn right onto Hopkins Street. The Stephen Hopkins House will be on your left at 15 Hopkins St.

• Public Transportation

  From the Providence Amtrak Station, take the #1 bus towards 'Olneyville' or 'Cranston' from the bus stop located just outside the station. Ride the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the 'South Main St and College St' stop. Walk east on College Street for a short distance until you reach the intersection with Hopkins Street, then turn left. The Stephen Hopkins House will be on your right at 15 Hopkins St.

• Walking from Brown University

  If you are at Brown University, head south on Thayer Street toward Benevolent Street. Turn left onto Benevolent Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Hope Street. Turn right onto Hope Street, then take a left onto Angell Street. Continue onto Waterman Street, then take a right onto South Main Street. After a short walk, turn left onto Hopkins Street. The Stephen Hopkins House will be on your right at 15 Hopkins St.
