Car
If you are driving to Clay Head Nature Trail from anywhere within Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge, start by heading north on the main road (Point Judith Road). Continue for about 5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and follow it for approximately 7 miles. Take the exit for New Shoreham/Bock Island Ferry. Once on New Shoreham, follow Clay Head Trail signs. The trailhead is located at the end of Clay Head Trail.

Public Transportation
To reach Clay Head Nature Trail via public transportation, take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus from Providence to Point Judith. Once you arrive at Point Judith, you will need to take a local taxi or rideshare service to the Block Island Ferry terminal. After arriving at Block Island, you can either walk, bike, or take a local shuttle service to the trailhead on Clay Head Trail, which is about 2 miles from the ferry dock. Please check the ferry schedule in advance as tickets may need to be purchased ahead of time.
