Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey in Timișoara, the major city in the Banat region. Take the E70 highway towards Arad. After approximately 50 km, take the exit for Șiria (also marked as 'Șiria' on signs). Continue on DJ682 towards Șiria village. The fortress is located just a short drive from the village center. There is a small parking area near the entrance of the fortress. Ensure you have some cash for parking fees if applicable, though many areas are free.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start from Timișoara Central Station. Take a regional train to Arad (approximately 1 hour). From Arad, you can catch a local bus (Line 12) towards Șiria. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Șiria, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the fortress, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Be prepared to walk uphill, as the fortress is positioned on a hill.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route, consider using a taxi or a rideshare service from Arad. This can be arranged via local apps or by calling a taxi company. The drive from Arad to Șiria Fortress will take about 30 minutes, and fares can vary, so confirm the price beforehand. This option is more convenient if you have luggage or prefer not to walk.
